Childhood means simplicity. Look at the world with the child’s eye – it is very beautiful. Kailash Satyarthi I recently took a course and the instructor said that she wasn’t focused on what childhood ‘looks’ like, she was interested in what it ‘feels’ like and how to photograph that. That concept immediately stood out […]
J and S contacted me from Ottawa to shoot their lovely wedding on Island View beach, with just their son and their parents/siblings. It was so lovely and intimate. My favourite officiant – Barbra Densmore (http://barbaradensmore.ca/) oversaw this joyous affair. J and S asked me not to show their son in the pictures, and he […]
I met this family on what was probably the coldest day of the year! OMG! This little man was a trooper. Look at that cute little face. It’s easy to be brave when you have strong hands to guide you. I love this one. There is this grove of trees that gives the most […]
I was excited to head back to this family’s house to photograph their kids again. So cute. So fun. This guy was just a baby last time I was here. He’s getting big — and strong. Look at that smile. A is not afraid of the camera. lol. I love catching kids doing things they […]
David and Allie had one of the most different weddings I have witnessed, and I loved every minute of it. It was unequivocally 100% them. The day started at St. Anne’s Academy, which I think is one of the most stunning places to be married in. This picture cracks me up. Dad didn’t mess it […]
I just shot this family again this weekend and realized that I never shared this session. And it was amazing! Miss A — so naughty 🙂 The eyes on this family. I love his little askew tie. So much expression. Ryan decided to dress up. It’s tough being a ballerina. Bathtime! In the middle of […]
The Nikkei Society asked me to photograph their Luncheon to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the internment of Japanese Canadians during WW2. It was wonderfully done, with personal stories from survivors. My grandparents were interned, so it meant so much to be part of this event.
The Saanich Fair was celebrating its 149th anniversary this year and what better way to celebrate than to see the fair through youthful eyes. Its so easy to be jaded at my *ahem* age but the games and prizes suddenly seem super exciting when viewed through the eyes of a 2 and 9 year old. […]
Nath wanted another branding session, this time with more nature (to contrast the city in the last session — you can see it here). So we walked around Thetis Lake and found interesting light and backgrounds for this one. Nath’s music is doing amazing in his home country of Cambodia. It’s so great to see […]
We’re getting married next week and we would like you to come photograph our wedding. Its going to be 20 people and be on a small beach. Ummmm…. yes! I love small weddings. LOVE THEM. I find them so intimate. These two were so awesome to work with. So quick to laugh. They are going […]
