Arabian Night Revue | Bellydance Show |Victoria BC
Last weekend I had the honour of photographing the Arabian Night Revue here in Victoria, headlined by the amazing Mercedes Nieto and Mohammed Shahin.
Azrakesh from Vancouver was our excellent MC. Hilarious.
A lovely piece about a vision appearing and leading a man away.
Asmira’s troupe did a piece that was brand new and one that had been choreographed 25 years ago.
Bobbie organized this fab event. Here she is, doing her thing.
I have so many pictures of this ladies lovely veil work. Stunning.
Al Ahsan having a great time as usual.
Nazaneen – elegant dancer.
Dahab did a cheeky shaabi piece.
Mohammed doing a Moor piece.
The beautiful Mercedes Nieto! Stunning dancer.
Maki opened the second set with Isis wings.
I not only photographed, but I also danced. Here is Sacred Centre doing our thing.
Nath took these photos (that I set up on a tripod 🙂 )
Bashirah duet, featuring Bobbi and Allison. Gotta love some hair flicks.
The program says this is Jasmille but I prefer the name she went by that night – Nana Cupcake… or as the MC called her Nana Sassypants.
New Horizons from Comox did a stunning fan veil piece.
Lisa Jordon from Vancouver did a piece that she said she half choreographed and was half choreographed by her students. Love that.
Bashirah doing a strong sword piece.
These ladies came all the way from Edmonton and I`m glad they did. Awesome number.
We finished the night with a Mohammed and Mercedes duet, that reminded me of a ballet pas de deux. Love that dancers are stretching bellydance.
Fantastic.
