Interfaith Chapel Wedding + University Club Reception at UVIC | Victoria Photographer

Janet and Eli came a long way to get married at the gorgeous Interfaith Chapel at UVIC. All the way from England! They officially get the title of my farthest travelling couple. The day threatened rain in the morning, but turned out, in typical Victoria fashion, to only be threatening, and the day turned gorgeous. A gorgeous day for a gorgeous wedding, relaxed and full of laughter. The best kind of wedding.

We started the day with portraits of the family and couple in Finnerty Gardens. The rhododendrons were blooming and made for a beautiful backdrop. I love that J & E decided to do the portraits before. It makes everything less rushed after the wedding, and means you get to spend more time with guests.

I took a portrait here, but I love this picture more. That jacket was what her mother wore on her wedding day. Vintage loveliness and a lovely moment between the couple.

I love asking couples to look at each other. You get much more real expressions that just posing them.

This gazebo is my fav.

I wonder what he was saying to her?!?

They did a quick walkthrough before anyone came in. This next series is the the “best people” (aka the groom’s sisters) entertaining the groom with their walk down the aisle. Wish more processionals were actually like this.

Love the way dads look at their daughters.

Getting ready for the actual event.

Isn’t the Interfaith Chapel GORGEOUS?!

There was so much laughter in this ceremony.

So much.

Look at J & E having a lovely moment while everyone else is focused on paperwork.

Wish I knew why they were all cracking up.

Cherry blossoms outside the University Club.

Love this idea. Give recipes. Great for foodies.

I’m kind of obsessed with people laughing… as you will see from cocktail hour.

The University Club is so fab.

I love the lady laughing in the middle of this picture.

Not one but two cakes from Patisserie Danielle.

Yum!

Speech time.

I might have waved at Janet and she waved back. lol.

My fav part of this photo is the look on his mom’s face. She’s the one leaning on the back of her chair.

Maid of honour’s speech… hilarious.

So expressive.

The people of honour started their speech with a hilarious poem.

Which cake to cut?

Eli’s tongue cracks me up every time I look at this picture.

So. Much. laughter.

Such a fun day. Thanks to Janet and Eli for having me along on their wedding day. I love these types of weddings… where the joy is palpable.
