Relaxed Family portraits Government House Victoria BC

I was super excited when Kirsten contacted me a for a new set of family photos. We met up in 2012 for some portraits of Miss E, who turned out to have a nasty ear infection. We met up a couple weeks later to take more pictures. That session produced one of my favourite kids portraits ever, which is the first on that page. We met again at the beginning of last year for Mr. M’s newborn photos. M was one of the most laid back little guys I’d ever met.

So last weekend I headed out to Government House (which is an amazing place for photos), to take some new photos.

When we started out, E wasn’t in to me or the cold. So I suggested the duck pond. Which produced some lovely real smiles.

I asked E to give me an Elsa smile. I haven’t watched Frozen but I always get good reactions by mentioning it.

This guy is so smiley. And not afraid of my camera AT ALL. Plus, I love this reaction of him and his mom. <3

E decided to copy her uncle who apparently climbs rocks in Vancouver. I love how this photos show the fearlessness and independence of a 4 year old.

 

 

 

Bribery, Elsa smiles, just one photo… this is all I could get. But I think it is exactly who they are at the moment.

 

 

 

And yet, even after all the ignoring me, I still managed to get a moment of tranquility.
