Albums

Albums are, in my opinion, the very best way to preserve your photography session. They are archival, stain-resistant and beautiful! As digital media changes, (and older methods become obsolete or die), printing your photographs means that they can be enjoyed for a lifetime and beyond. All images are printed on gorgeous lustre paper (that has the colour of glossy and the texture of a matt) and are matted to a substrate core, to make them rigid and strong. The books lay flat, instead of having a gutter like a book or magazine. This means that you can see the whole spread, rather than losing some of the image to the gutter (the part of the book where the pages are glued together). The cover comes in either a Classic Hardcover, with an image (or two) of your choice or in Classic Leatherette, in a variety of colours. [one_third]

Digitals

Hey, we live in a digital age. You want the ease of sharing with friends and family and of printing as you need. I totally get it! Digitals come with both wedding and portrait packages. Wedding packages will receive a custom bamboo USB and case, for ease of use and storage. Portrait packages will receive their images via a Dropbox link but can upgrade to the USB for$100. Digital packages have both high resolution images for printing and low resolution images for sharing online. (Never print low resolution images, they look terrible!!!)

FAQ about Digitals

  1. Do I own the copyright of the digitals?
As the photographer, I retain copyright of all my photographic work, as per Canadian law. However, you will receive Personal Usage Rights to print and share online as you like. You may not sell the image or share with a company for a contest, where they take copyright.
  2. Can I get the digital negatives?
Sure. But first, do you really want the negatives? Digital negatives are unfinished versions of my images, that come straight off my camera. They are equivalent to receiving the negatives in film days. I do not consider them a finished product, as you have paid me for the taking and finishing of the photograph in my style. They are also in a RAW format (.NEF, not .JPG) and you will require an additional program on your computer to open them (Photoshop, Lightroom, Aperature). Digital negatives are available for $150 per image.
  3. How much retouching is involved in your files?
    Basic Retouching
I take every image presented to you through my digital darkroom process. This means that colour, crop, and contrast have been adjusted to make the image perfect. I will also retouch skin to remove things that are not normal day to day (ie, acne). Additional retouching (bodywork, removing things from the image) are available at an additional cost.
    Creative Editing
Every image presented to a portrait client has been through creative editing. Wedding clients will receive a select number of images from their wedding done with creative editing (this is usually applied to the portrait images from the day, but may be applied to other images, as per the photographers discretion). Creative editing is where I take an image from a beautiful image into a work of art. The majority of the images that you see on my website have gone through Creative Editing.
